Willem van Aelst
Willem van Aelst (1627 - 1683) - Dutch Baroque artist, representative of the Dutch school of flower and fruit still life. Willem van Aalst was an outstanding master of still life, excellent in color and a special ability to convey images of fabrics, metals, bird feathers and so on in his paintings. His still lifes differ from those of his Dutch compatriots in the abundance of antique Renaissance trinkets. Currently, his canvases can be seen in the largest museums and art galleries in Amsterdam, Berlin, Washington, Budapest, Dresden, Vienna, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris, San Francisco, Toulouse, Gothenburg, Cincinnati, Kassel, Oxford, etc.
