Pehr Hillestrom
Pehr Hillestrom (Per Hillestrom; 1732-1816) is a Swedish painter.
Born in Veddo. Initially he studied in Stockholm, in 1757-1758 he lived in Paris, where he got acquainted with the production of tapestries and attended the workshop of F. Boucher. From 1758 he worked in Stockholm. Since 1810 - Director of the Stockholm Academy of Arts. As a master, he developed under the influence of JB Greuze and JB Chardin, becoming the largest representative of enlightenment realism in Swedish painting of the 18th century. He created scenes from the everyday life of the Stockholm bourgeoisie, romantic depictions of labor in mines and forges, portraits, still lifes, scenes of folk life.
