Nikolai Astrup
Nikolai Astrup (1880 - 1928) is considered one of the greatest Norwegian painters of the early 1900s. Astrup was a distinctive and innovative painter, best known for his intense use of color to depict lush landscapes. Astrup is considered a neo-romantic artist. Although Astrup is well known in Norway, he is little known in the rest of the world.
