Ivan Kuzmich Makarov entered the history of Russian painting as an artist who presented us with portraits of N.N. Pushkina-Lanskaya. Numerous portraits of children belong to his brush. In the middle of the 19th century, Ivan Makarov was one of the best portrait painters of St. Petersburg, he had his own circle of customers, among whom there were many celebrities and even members of the imperial family.
