Louise Abbema
The artist Louise Abbema (1853 - 1927) was born into a wealthy Parisian family. She became interested in painting in early childhood, and received recognition at the age of 23. Louise Abbema painted oil and watercolor portraits, designed the Paris City Hall, the Paris Opera House, the Sarah Bernhardt Theater, the Governor's Palace in Dakar. Louise Abbema's works were regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon, exhibited at the World Exhibitions in Paris and Chicago.
