Jean Richard Goubie
Jean Richard Goubie (1842-1899) French painter, naturalist, landscape and illustrator. Jean-Richard Goubi painted elegant aristocrats on horseback rides or hunting scenes. He was a student of Jean-Léon Jerome at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. From 1869 he exhibited his work at the Paris Salon until his death. These numerous canvases are reminiscent of landscapes of a very green and flowery countryside, in which free horses often appear, on which sit elegant horsemen or brides of the aristocratic or bourgeois world. Nature is serene and omnipresent.
