James Pollard
James Pollard (1792–1867) was a British painter known for his mail coach, fox and horse hunting. Pollard was born at Spa Filds Bynes (later renamed Exmouth Street) in Islington, son of artist and publisher Robert Pollard. From 1821 to 1839, James Pollard exhibited at the Royal Academy. And during his career, he also worked with John Frederick Herring, Sr., on several horse racing paintings, in which he painted backgrounds for the audience and Gerring painted horses.
Many of his compositions were printed as aquatons, although, unlike his father, he himself engraved only a few plates.
