Harold Clayton
Harold Clayton was a British painter best known for his depictions of floral arrangements in ornate vases, painted using detailed techniques and centered compositions by 16th century Dutch and Flemish still life painters such as Ambrosius Bosshart the Elder. Born in 1896 in London, England, Clayton studied both at Hornsey College of Art, where he focused on graphic design and commercial art, and St Martin's School of Art, where he studied with the artist Norman Jones, profoundly influencing his work. During his lifetime, Clayton frequently exhibited at the Royal Academy in London.
