Giovanni Boldini

Giovanni Boldini (1842 - 1931) is a famous Italian painter. One of the best portrait painters of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. Giovanni Boldini, the son of an artist, learned to paint from childhood, studied at the Florentine Academy of Arts. Since 1869, Giovanni Boldini, already a professional artist, moved to London. Here he became famous as a master of portrait. In 1871 he moved to Paris. He was repeatedly awarded the Grand Prix at the World Exhibitions. The most famous persons of his time posed for him, including the famous actress Sarah Bernhardt, the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, the post-impressionist painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the opera singer Lina Cavalieri, and others.
