George Elgar Hicks

English artist George Elgar Hicks (1824 - 1914) lived and worked during the Victorian era. He painted large everyday genre paintings. From the mid-sixties of the nineteenth century, the artist "switched" to painting portraits, which were successful and provided a livelihood.
