Gau Vladimir
Vladimir (Voldemar) Ivanovich Gau (Gau Vladimir) was born in the family of the artist Johann Gau, from whom he received his first drawing lessons, like his older brother Edward. The name of Vladimir Ivanovich Gau is well known to lovers of Russian portraiture and miniature painting. He became the patriarch of Russian watercolor and miniature portraits. Vladimir Gau created a whole gallery of images of representatives of high society St. Petersburg - the second half of the 19th century.
