Franz Xaver Simm
Franz Xaver Simm (1853-1918) - Austrian painter and illustrator. The son of a family of artists, he studied at the Vienna Academy of Arts, received a two-year scholarship to travel to Rome and remained for a long time in Italy. Until the end of his days he lived and worked in Munich. In Munich he worked a lot as an illustrator in various magazines, illustrated fiction. Later, he increasingly created small genre paintings in the Empire style.
