Fabio Fabbi
Fabio Fabbi, (1861-1946) - one of the most famous and commercially successful Italian Orientalist artists. The artist was born in Bologna (Italy) in 1861. He studied painting and sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Florence. After his studies, he traveled to Europe and visited Egypt. Upon his return to Italy, in 1893, he accepted a professorship at the Academy of Arts. Since 1884 he regularly held exhibitions in Turin, Milan and Florence. In 1890 he received an order from the Gonzago Mantua royal family to decorate one of the halls of their palace in an oriental style. In 1898 Fabio Fabbi received the prestigious title of Cavaliere della Corona d'Italia.
