Eloise Harriet Stannard
Eloise Harriet Stannard (1829-1915) - English artist, was a representative of the Norwich School. Her parents are famous landscape painters. Eloise Harriet Stannard painted exclusively still lifes in oil on canvas. Most often, she depicted fruits, not flowers. The objects depicted were placed in bowls, vases or baskets, and the contrast between the restrained tones of the background and the bright colors of the fruits in the foreground is very characteristic. Sometimes there are small birds or insects on the fruit. The largest collection of her works is in the Norwich Castle Museum; quite a few of her paintings are in private collections.
