Eleanor Fortescue-Brickdale
Eleanor Fortescue-Brickdale (1872 - 1945) is an English artist of the Victorian era, whose work belongs to the direction of the "Pre-Raphaelite revival". She began to draw in early childhood. Eleanor Fortescue-Brickdale only managed to enter the academy in 1896. And very soon she became a famous artist. First as an illustrator. She created a large cycle of illustrations for English ballads, legends and fairy tales, works by Shakespeare, Dickens, Tennessee, Poe.
