Edward Runci
Edward Runci is an outstanding but little-known Pin-up artist. His confident brush strokes demonstrate skill and talent comparable to Elvgreen, although Runci is not a certified artist. The artist was born in 1921 in Genoa (Italy), in the 30s he moved to the USA. In 1937 the family moved to Detroit, and soon after that Edward went to serve in the Marines. In 1943 he meets Maxine Sanderman and they soon get married. Later, Maxine often poses for her husband. After the end of the war in 1945, the first Runchi exhibition takes place, and his career begins to gain momentum. Drawing in the late 40s calendar and pin-up girls, in the early 50s he goes into advertising.
