Darrell K. Sweet
Darrell K. Sweet is one of the best-known professional American science fiction and fantasy illustrators. In this capacity, he was nominated for a Hugo Prize in 1983, and was a multiple Chesley Prize finalist.
Darrell's first illustrations were published by Ballantine Books in 1975, and when Del Rey, a science fiction and fantasy publishing subsidiary of Ballantine Books, was formed in 1977, he created many of his covers for this. publishing houses. Since then, he has created illustrations for most of the major SF publishers, including Berkeley, Ace, and Tor. Sweet is now arguably the most famous illustrator of the epic fantasy saga Wheel of Time. And it is especially sad that he could not complete the work on the last book of this Memory of Light saga. He was an important part of this series from the very beginning, 25 years ago, and hoped that, in the end, he would complete the entire scope of work on the Wheel of Time.
An avid history buff, Darrell also spent some of his time painting pictures of the early settlers of the American Wild West.
