Dante Gabriel Rossetti
Dante Gabriel Rossetti (born May 12, 1828) is a famous painter and poet of Victorian England with Italian roots. Rossetti became one of the founding artists of the Pre-Raphaelite movement and a teacher for the second generation of representatives of this movement. Dante Gabriel Rossetti rejected the puritanical traditions of Victorian England in art and offered something new - bright and unusual in return. The work of this temperamental master had a strong influence on the Symbolists at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. His extraordinary female portraits still impress viewers today.
