Catherine Abel
Australian artist Catherine Abel draws her energetic and bold angular oil paintings under the influence of the Art Deco movement of the early 20th century. She manages to harmoniously combine the classic style with the complex (not beyond the bounds of decency) theme of modern female sexuality, the result is an unusually seductive composition consisting of a stunning mixture of strength and beauty. Influenced by the early works of Picasso, Braque and Salvador Dali, and more recently by André Lot and Tamara de Lempicka, her works have found their own truly original style.
