Carl Reichert
The talented Austrian landscape painter and animal painter Karl Reichert was born in Vienna into the family of portrait painter and animal painter Heinrich Reichert. The artist's uncle created scenery for theatrical productions. Reichert is known for his engravings depicting the old part of Graz and its castles, but primarily for his paintings of animals, mainly dogs, which amaze with their elaboration and precision of details. Very often his work is compared with the paintings of other animal painters of this period: Henrietta Ronner-Knip and Lillian Cheviot. The main part of the artist's works is in private collections, as well as in the city museum of Baden-Baden
