Brenda Lyons
"Brenda Lyons was born in Manchester, Connecticut. She studied at the Bachelor of Art and Rocky Mountains College in Beelings, Montana. About herself, she writes:" I have always loved drawing stories. When I was a kid, I read books and imagined the characters as they really could be. And I began to draw these characters. As I grew up, drawing for fun grew into detailed illustrations based on my imagination. Recently I realized that I wanted to be an illustrator. The biggest influence on my work has been John James Audubon since I saw his drawings in elementary school. I often go to the library and sit there for a long time looking at books with drawings of his birds. I am inspired by seeing his work with beautiful and graceful birds. Another illustrator who influenced me is Peter Parnall. I also love illustrations by Rackham, Robert Bateman and Susan Seddon-Boule. "Brenda Lyons uses watercolor, sometimes acrylic, ink, crayons in her works.
