Bob Pettes
Bob Pettes is an American artist born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He started painting while still in elementary school. Bob was educated at the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts and began working in the commercial field, creating work for advertising companies. However, at some point, he realized that he wanted to develop his own style and achieve more. The artist was attracted mainly by European and American landscapes. His American style was liked by many companies around the country and his work gained prominence. Pettes lived in Europe for a while, visiting various countries, including France, Switzerland, England and Germany. His travels in Europe prompted the artist to capture the nuances of rural life in each country and convey their simple beauty on canvas. Pettes mostly paints in oils. Bob has received numerous art awards throughout his long career and entered America's "golden age of illustration". His work has been licensed and reproduced in the form of calendars, prints, china, greeting cards, and a host of other merchandise, and originals adorn collections throughout the United States. For puzzle lovers, his paintings are just as familiar, as they are often produced in puzzle form.
