Alexander Joseph Daiwaille
Alexander Joseph Daiwaille (Daiwail Alexander Joseph) (1818 –1888) was the son of the famous Dutch painter Jean Augustin Daiwaille and the half-brother of another equally famous artist B.C. Koekkoek. He studied with his father. His paintings, for the most part, are romantic landscapes, both summer and winter. B1849 in Brussels, he met the artist Eugine Verboeckhoven, there are many canvases created together. Eugine Verboeckhoven has acted as a mentor for many artists, among them Daiwaille. Collaboration in the field of painting, common practice enriched the creativity of both artists. Daiwaille painted landscapes, and Verboeckhoven often added animated scenes against their background. In this case, their style is reminiscent of the seventeenth century Dutch landscape painters, whose influence they experienced in the first half of the nineteenth century. In 1840. Daiwaille makes a creative trip to Germany, and from 1841 to 1847. he lives and works in Cologne. His works are in private collections in the West, several works in Holland in the state museum. Basically, the artist's paintings were sold at auctions.
