How to create jigsaw puzzles: rules and guidelines
We do our best to make our collection the highest quality and most interesting. Therefore, we carefully check and select every puzzle that falls into it. When creating puzzles, please adhere to the following simple rules and guidelines::
- The name of the puzzle is written with a capital letter, in English and without a dot at the end. The title should be short and meaningful.
- If you come up with a good description for the puzzle - we will only be glad! Puzzles with good stories generate more interest. Just please, don't just copy the text from the Internet (it's so uninteresting), but write it yourself.
- If possible, mention the author of the image. Please note that the author is not the one who uploaded the puzzle to the site (this will be indicated anyway), but the artist who painted the picture or the photographer who took the picture.
Some authors do not want to create puzzles from their works. We treat this requirement with respect and attention, so before creating a puzzle, be sure to check if the author is on the list of prohibited publications: http://puzzleit.club/forum/club/526. - Tags are needed to make navigation and searching through puzzles more convenient. Please do not create new tags, but choose them from the list of those already used on the site. When you enter the name of the tag, for example, "Painting", a yellow line with the found tag should appear under the input line, if such a tag is already in the collection, select it.
- The image file must be in JPG or PNG format, good quality, without blurring and other artifacts, so that pixels are not visible. The image must not contain extraneous inscriptions (such as website address or copyright mark). Image size must not be less than 600 × 600 pixels.
Avoid monotonous images. If possible, pick up pictures with a large variety of details, in this case the puzzle will be interesting to assemble and difficult to assemble. Collecting monotonous images is not at all interesting. For example, if this is some kind of even a very original object in the center of the picture on a large gray background - believe me, while collecting such a puzzle, you can die of boredom.
The picture must be of public interest, that is, it must be beautiful, aesthetic, meaningful and professionally prepared. If this is an amateur photo of your beloved (you are, of course, beautiful!), Someone close to you (we believe that he is very cool) or your family holiday (we are sure it was a lot of fun) - please do not offer such a picture to the general collection, moderators will not let her through anyway. Better leave it in your personal collection and enjoy collecting it to your heart's content.
Remember: we mercilessly punish pornography, propaganda of violence, infringement of any human rights and everything else that is contrary to Russian and international law. -
How many pieces should the puzzle be broken into?
The number of elements should be such that they are not too large, like sandals, and not too small, so that you do not have to look at them under a magnifying glass. The optimal size for a puzzle is 60 × 60, or if the picture is clear - 50 × 50;For example, pictures of 1023 × 720 are common. In this case, horizontally, you should get 1020/60 = 17 puzzles, and vertically - 720/60 = 13 puzzles. Total: 17 * 13 = 221 puzzles.
We calculate in the same way for 800 × 600 pictures: 800/50 = 16; 600/50 = 12; 16 * 12 = 192 puzzles.
To make it easier to calculate the number of elements, adjust the size of the picture, if at the top there are large monophonic areas, for example, the sky, they can be cropped a little.
The exception is puzzles for children - for them, the pieces can be made larger, so that it is easier and more convenient for the child to assemble.
- And finally, when creating a puzzle, you decide whether to create it only for yourself (then no one except you can see and assemble this puzzle), or offer it to the general collection. In the latter case, the puzzle will be checked by the moderators and will be approved if you followed all our rules and did everything right.
Do you understand everything and agree with all the rules and recommendations? Then go ahead, create your puzzle now!
