Carl Schweninger Jr.

Carl Schweninger the Younger (Carl Schweninger der Jüngere), (1854, Vienna - 1912, Vienna) - Austrian painter and sculptor.
Karl Schweninger came from a Viennese family of artists, he was the son of the painter Karl Schweninger Sr. (1818-1887) and the brother of the painter Rosa Schweninger (1818-1918). He first studied painting under the guidance of his father. From 1871 to 1873 he studied under Karl Mayer at the Allgemeine Malerschule of the Academy of Arts in Vienna. After graduating from university, he traveled to Germany, where he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he painted genre scenes in the Rococo style. Many of his paintings have been published in magazines such as Garden Gazebo, On Land and Sea, and Contemporary Art. Illustrated collections of poems by German poets, such as "Oh, love, how much you can love" by Ferdinand Freiligrat, and "Sackingen's Trumpeter" by Joseph Viktor von Scheffel.
