Sukko

Not far from Anapa is Lake Sukko, located in the village of the same name. Most often it is called Cypress. There are several options for the origin of its name. The main version: "Sukko" in translation from the Adyghe means "reservoir for pigs".
Cypress Lake (Sukko), its important attraction are 32 cypress trees that grow right in the middle of the reservoir. It is common knowledge that these trees did not grow in the past in Russia - their homeland is North America. According to unofficial data, they were brought here and planted during experiments in the 30s of the last century. And since then they have taken root and have been here for over 80 years. This is due to the resinous wood. It does not allow rotting, and therefore these mighty trees are called "eternal". Their height reaches 50 meters.
